2 Beliefs That Saved My 2016

The year 2016 has been my most crazy year yet. I can’t remember having any year with so many ups and downs, losses, battles, and victories. It really wasn’t easy, there were times where I was really close to giving up and letting go, but somehow I didn’t.

There was a particular time when I felt stripped of all my beliefs and things I held on to tightly. I don’t know if you’ve experienced your plans go straight into the water or your most prayed prayers unanswered. Have you been unsure of what the future may hold, and you are doing your best to stay positive? I was there too

I can clearly remember holding to these 2 facts when all the chips were down, it could help you too:

1) God is ALL loving: One convincing belief I held on to was that God is loving God, His love for me exceeds my expectation or imagination. So even though my situation or circumstances didn’t immediately agree with my expectations and goals, I believed God had the best in store for me and I had to trust and believe in His love for me. I still believe that. I had to ensure all my thoughts and actions were in line with my beliefs.

I know what I’m doing. I have it all planned out—plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for. Jeremiah 29:11

God’s unfailing love for us is an objective fact affirmed over and over in the Scriptures. It is true whether we believe it or not. Our doubts do not destroy God’s love, nor does our faith create it. It originates in the very nature of God, who is love, and it flows to us through our union with His beloved Son. ~ Jerry Bridges

2) God is ALL powerful: the truth is that ALL we need or desire is at the mercy of the power of God. Going through the Bible and seeing the mighty miracles God has wrought and looking into our time as well, we can see God’s power. God can change your situation in the twinkle of an eye. Joseph’s story always gets me, after much suffering, he was told to dress up and meet up with Pharaoh, and that was his last time in that cell.

When God works miracles, we’ll be totally amazed, because it’s beyond words. If God chooses to make your situation or circumstance better, no man can argue with you or with Him. The saying “God’s time is the best” may be cliche, but it’s true. God’s miracles come with beauty and splendor. We get to see it happen if we are patient enough. Are you willing to wait?

God can do anything, you know—far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams! He does it not by pushing us around but by working within us, his Spirit deeply and gently within us. Ephesians 3:20

Imagine an ALL LOVING AND ALL POWERFUL GOD; your God, working for you and on your behalf. Just think about the great things you are set to receive from him. Now is not the right time to give up having this great God on your side.

At the end of the day, there were miracles packaged just for me and showed me God’s love towards me. I’m super glad I trusted God and held on to these 2 facts, hope it helps you too now and always..

What beliefs did you hold to this year? Please share.

Wishing you a glorious 2017!

  1. One of my consolations this year was the verse of the Bible “you will walk through fire and shall not get burnt ”
Anytime d Holy Spirit reminds me of dt, I ask myself is this the fire, well if it is God said I would get burnt so this too shall pass!

    1. That’s a very deep scripture.. Really brings home the very presence of God in our present situation no matter how tough i may be. God definitely shows up for us, all the time. Thanks for sharing Dara!
